Saying Cheese!

We had Clay's first professional pictures taken a few weeks ago. Technically, they were his 3-month pictures even though he was close to four months when they were taken. Our photographer was Keri Kay Holcombe in Spring Hill, TN. (http://www.kerikayphotography.com/)

She is wonderful! I was so pleased with how they turned out. Clay was fussy, hungry, happy, smiley, grouchy and sleepy during his photo session. His varying emotions are clearly displayed in his pictures. Here are a few of them...

Caden and Clay took some pictures together because their photo sessions were back-to-back. Here is an example of Grouchy Clay. He was not happy to be sharing this chair with Caden. Fortunately, Sweet Caden was a good sport. (Santa Claus brought Caden this chair for Christmas so Clay was technically intruding in his space!

4 Months and Growing

Well, time sure has flown by these past few weeks! It seems like just a few days ago I was posting about Clay turning 3 months old. Now, he is four months old and trying all sorts of new things.

Our first attempt at feeding him rice cereal was successful. He managed to actually eat some of it, and he didn't complain about it.

He sort of grasped the concept that the cereal was supposed to stay in his mouth and not be immediately spit out where it would plaster to his face.

Sort of...

Clay has also discovered how to stick out his tongue. The first day or two he realized he could do this amazing trick, he was constantly sticking his tongue out. Now, the novelty has worn thin. But, here are some pictures of him sticking out his tongue while getting a bath. He LOVES baths. He kicks his legs furiously and splashes water all over the place. It cracks me up!

Kicking and Splashing

Ta-da!

Let's see, what else... Oh, he can grasp toys really well now and everything he gets his fingers around, he tries to put in his mouth. Here is his first attempt to put something in his mouth. This is his adorable book, "Jungly Tails." As you can see, he was a wee bit ambitious with this one.

Clay does very well in social situations. He doesn't mind if other people hold him; he just grins all over himself. I brought him to a baby shower I was co-hosting for my friend, Allison. He had so much fun being the party favor. He's such a little flirt!

One thing Clay doesn't like is the sun in his eyes. So, I bought him a pair of sunglasses the other day and he thinks they are hilarious. He loves wearing them - thank goodness! Here's a picture of him before we went for a walk around the neighborhood this morning. Rob thinks he looks like a miniature Terminator. I think he looks precious.

The countdown is on!
